I suspect that I’m either totally nuts or a prophet in my own land. Either way, we all know that such prophets are usually consigned to the loony bin.
Cassandra, the hot daughter of Troy’s Priam and Hecuba, was no exception. She angered Apollo by rejecting his lusty advances so, in a fit, after giving her the gift of prophecy, he cursed her with the bane of prophecy without acceptance.
In other words, she would be able to see the future vividly; at the same time, her fellow Trojans would deem her a fruitcake and view her prophecies as lunacies. Then came the Trojan Horse which she anticipated and the rest is history.
I’m neither hot nor female nor endowed with special Appolonian or God-given gifts. I just think that America’s future is so obvious that only idiots and Democrats, if that’s not redundant, can’t see it.
Or, to be somewhat gracious, they refuse to accept it.

Although one day does not a trend make, in that article I referenced a slew of single-day headlines on DrudgeReport.com which, taken cumulatively, suggest the United States of America is under attack by Islamic terrorists even if those attacks had been thwarted.
(More difficult to thwart may be attacks from “within,” people and forces which will remain unidentified since identification here would provoke rabid charges of vile prejudice. In any event, it doesn’t require deep insight to discover what they share in common.)
Like cockroaches and other vermin, if jihadists are rooted out in a few venues, it’s as certain as God created maggots that probably many more are still luking in their ratholes.
If nothing else, terrorists are a patient and determined lot as evidenced by the years of planning leading up to September 11th, 2001.
In the “Is Drudge . . .” article, I also pointed out some of the profusion of contemporaneous evidence of social, political, and international events which signify growing sea changes in the philosophical thinking throughout America and the rest of Western civilization.
I barely scratched the surface in that regard.
So, what’s it all mean? Specifically and conclusively, it’s impossible to say.
Generally, it’s not a good thing.
That is, unless one accepts the disturbed notion that abandoning American and Western European touchstone values and traditions developed over centuries should be discarded, from national independence to accepted moral understandings of the value of human life, to de-valuing cherished principles, is a good thing.
Nations, societies, and peoples naturally evolve over time. If not, they fail to thrive and fail to survive. History has shown, repeatedly, that when nations, societies, and peoples evolve into amoral, subservient, and weak entities they also perish.
Cassandra’s Troy, Hellenic Greece, the Byzantine Empire, the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire and almost all great civilizations collapsed eventually as a result of foreign invasions. Most of those invasions were preceded by rampant corruption among the oligarchy which ultimately filtered down to the rabble.
More recently we have witnessed the defeat and destruction of the monomaniacal Imperial Japan, fascist Italy, and Nazi Germany. Another totalitarian regime, the U.S.S.R., evaded destruction but collapsed as surely as did its fellow dictatorships.
Define “rabble” any way you wish. However, when a nation’s leadership disregards the rights of its citiens and sees its populace as tools of its designs, as useful rabble-idiots, that nation is in serious trouble.
When a large proportion of that populace acts accordingly then the United States is clearly devolving into a nation dominated by that element which, in turn, is being directed by the nouveau rabble rousers in Washington.
Whether it originated with Jack Dempsey or Mao Zedong, the adage that the best defense is a good offense has been gleefully adopted by the Obama administration.
For example:
. When good people protest civilly and constitutionally, they are condemned as “un-American,” to counter the outrageous incivility of violent counter-demonstrators;
. When the government displays ineptitude and naivete’ and consistently acts ineptly and naively in matters of foreign relations, it accuses critics of working to undermine it;
. When concerned citizens object to racists and pedophiles being appointed as national czars capable of causing social havoc, the truth is twisted against them and they are called bigots;
. When religion is virtually banned from the hallowed halls of our leaders and from all public entities and is supplanted by a nanny-statism which dictates godless, collectivist values, those who object are termed Neanderthal fanatics;
. When over a million conservatives stage a demonstration in Washington, they are dismissed as a minimalist group who despise “change” and are mere malcontents;
. When the citizenry takes exception to schools emulating Stalinist and Hitler’s tactics of extolling our great leader in song, they are condemned as reactionary alarmists.

The purpose of this essay is not, believe it or not, to attack President Obama.
Rather, it is an effort to rouse patriotic, America-loving citizens to the import of what’s going on in D.C. and the effect of those activities on our nation’s future and on our personal and family future.
If those and dozens of other examples of a polluted oligarchy run amok, compounded by a cultural disintegration, fail to awaken the sleeping, oblivious giant that provides the life blood of our Republic, batten down the hatches, assign your kids to a dark basement, and be prepared for an America never envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
It will be an America which doesn’t just cause them to roll over in their graves. It will be an America that so troubles their souls that they will rise up and relocate to New Zealand.
