I fly, in airplanes, that is, and I hate it. I think it’s just unnatural and freakish for those behemoths to defy the law of gravity by rising off the tarmac, actually fly people thousands of miles away, and safely land them.
My personal quirks side, if you wish to take wing on any commercial airliner, not to worry, sort of. It’s all good, safe, and secure, as per the former governor of Arizona and current Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, the redoubtable Janet Napolitano. 
She’s the same Janet who told us just last month that illegal aliens, aka future Democrat voters, should be given “earned legal status,” http://bit.ly/kGJGZ, meaning that full voting privileges will be conferred upon them asap so they can vote for Dems.
She is the same Janet who earlier had warned of the deadly threat to the Republic from our returning war heroes, blood-lusting Right-to-Lifers, crippled grandmas in wheelchairs, et al., all of whom were more dangerous than any left wing radical group and certainly more treacherous than Islamic terrorists.
Janet Napolitano has now outdone herself with her flipflopping on her assessment of the nation’s airline’s security/insecurity following the Christmas Day near-disaster.

Not content with that advertisement of her gross incompetence, Napolitano then put a much larger foot in her mouth by announcing that Abdulmutallab’s vain effort to blow Northwest Air’s flight 253 out of Detroit’s unfriendly skies was essentially a fluke: “Janet Napolitano says there is no indication that the man who attempted to destroy an airliner in Detroit on Christmas Day is part of a larger terrorist plot” but “refused to say whether Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has a connection to al-Qaida:” http://bit.ly/5BItiO
I’ll buy Janet a few vowels so she can piece together a cogent policy re: Umar and al Qaeda: “The leader of al Qaeda in Yemen boasted of what was planned for Americans, saying, ‘We are carrying a bomb to hit the enemies of God:’ ” http://bit.ly/4IbKhi and “Hundreds of al-Qaeda militants are planning terror attacks from Yemen, the country’s Foreign Minister said today: http://bit.ly/6i1MWX.
I’m well aware that the latest assault on America was not perpetrated by an illegal alien since Abdulmutallab hadn’t yet arrived, and didn’t plan on arriving in Detroit. It was also an ignominious failure for which Umar should be drummed out of the al-Qaeda Club and awarded the Richard-Shoe-Bomber-Reid Trophy for Inexcusably Inept Terrorism.
However, when the Anointed One’s designated protector of America’s security hasn’t the vaguest clue as to what the hell either she or America is up against in the terror department, we should all be very worried.
