In addition to the duties of America’s Director of National Intelligence as chief advisor to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council  concerning national security matters, the DNI also serves as head of the 16-member Intelligence Community and directs the National Intelligence Program.

Intelligence James Clapper  Implicit in the qualifications for the position of Director of National Intelligence are, first of all, intelligence and, second of all, honesty.  Regrettably for our country, and despite his impressive résumé, President Barack Hussein Obama’s pick for our DNI, James R. Clapper Jr., falls far short in both categories.

Most recently, Mr. Clapper revealed he is more skilled in semantics and parsing words than in truth, much like the man he served as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency between 1992 and 1996. when he tried to clarify his claim that the National Security Agency doesn’t collect information on millions of Americans.

He told NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell that he gave the “least untruthful” answer possible regarding the agency’s surveillance program during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on March 12.   Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) had asked Clapper whether the NSA gathers “any type of data at all on millions of Americans.”  Clapper’s “least untruthful” response was, “No, sir.  Not wittingly. There are cases where they could inadvertently perhaps collect, but not wittingly,” as he, embararassed by his baldfaced, huge lie, tried to hide his face in his huge hands

To complement his obvious disregard for truth and honesty, Mr. Clapper had previously demonstrated a certain dimness and a clear disconnect with the world he was charged with monitoring as Director of National Intelligence when he was exposed on national television in December, 2010 as an out-of-touch functionary totally oblivious of a disrupted terrrorist attack in London.  Asked by ABC News’ Diane Sawyer what he thought of the arrest of a dozen suspects, Clapper might just as soon have been queried on the man on the moon.  Worse, his boss, John Brennan, covered for him. (http://tiny.cc/u5nyt)

Two ye ars ago Mr. Clapper testified before Congress that the Muslim Brotherhood was a “largely secular” organization.  He explained that the Muslim Brotherhood was “an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam . . . They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, etc. . . there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally.”

In point of fact, the Muslim Brotherhood is less a brotherhood and less an umbrella term than it is an ultra-violent Islamic movement dedicated to establishing a worldwide caliphate thrnearough any means necessary.  Its motto is, “Islam is the solution,” its goal global conquest and domination to effect that solution.

Someone ultimately clued Clapper in on the Muslim Brotherhood and an Office of the Director of National Intelligence spokesperson provided semi-accurate damage control by saying, “To clarify Director Clapper’s point–in Egypt the Muslim Brotherh, ood makes efforts to work through a political system that has been, under Mubarak’s rule, one that is largely secular in its orientation–he is well aware that the Muslim Brotherhood is not a secular organization:” http://tiny.cc/3o4pn

(No mention was made in the clarification of the 600,000 member Muslim Brotherhood’s bloody history, its affiliation with Hamas and Hezbollah, nor its aims of eradicating Israel and effecting an Islamic planet.)

Suggestions have been made that James Clapper should be forced to resign or that he should be indicted on charges of perjury for lying to Congress.  Considering the stranglehold Democrats have on the United States Senate, neither will happen in the near future so for now we will have to settle for the judgment of
