Republicans are schmucks and always have been when they believe Democrat promises. Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush were schmucks when they fell for Democrat pledges to hold the line on spending if they agreed to raise taxes. Republicans and the nation are being lied to again on “immigration reform” which is more akin to a blueprint to eradicate our southern border.
Republicans–far from all–are once again being snookered and suckered, this time by buying into empty Democrat promises on future border control, phony promises consciously made in order to permit Democrats time to maneuver and scheme to cut back on incredibly expensive, pie-in-the-border-sky, multi-billion dollar plans for 20,000 new border patrol agents, 700+ miles of new border fencing, an entry/exit system to track visa overstays at all airports and seaports, and E-Verify to be implemented by every employer in the country.
Dems like Sen. Chuckie Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi and their ilk will soon whine–only after the immigration bill is passed– “Seriously, now, folks, why should we waste all that money? And, can we really expect all these good people to wait 10 years without the benefits of Social Security, without Obamacare, without citizenship, and without a Green Card? Surely, they deserve better from a welcoming America!”
(What Schumer and Company can’t say is that the Democrat Party is eagerly looking forward to locking in a national majority for the next hundred years.)
Following Senate passage of S. 744, it’s a given that the 11 million or so illegal aliens in America–no one really knows the actual number since illegals obviously aren’t counted and no effort is made to count them nor is their country of origin known–will be granted unconditional amnesties and eventually full citizenship along with full voting rights just as if they waited in line like legal immigrants.
Twenty years from now, since we will be back at 2013 Border Square One, that same unconditional amnesty and full citizenship along with voting rights will be granted to those who continue to cross our still-unprotected border over the course of the next two decades.
Those who doubt the sneakiness of the Democrat scheme should take note of the thousand-page Corker-Hoeven amendment which Senate Majority Leader gleefully incorporated into S. 744.
Among other features of Corker-Hoeven, page 35, line 24 specifies that DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano or her successors can decide against building any fence if she decides not to: “Notwithstanding paragraph (1), nothing in this subsection shall require the Secretary to install fencing, or infrastructure that directly results from the installation of such fencing, in a particular location along the Southern border, if the Secretary determines that the use or placement of such resources is not the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain effective control over the Southern border at such location.”
In other words, based on that significant deviancy from the intent of the bill, it’s obvious that once S. 744 is passed–with Republican Sen. Corker’s complicity–Democrats will begin whittling away at other fundamentals. We can forget about any fencing, any entry/exit system, E-Verify, or any other provisions ostensibly designed to secure our border since the devious Dems will have already gotten what they wanted all along–a free and open border plus 11 million more Democrat voters.Â
We can also forget about the antiquated idea that borders effectively define nations and that without them nations don’t really exist.
Conservative columnist and author Pat Buchanan made a statement on immigration reform on Andrea Tantaros’ radio show last week which could be considered more a prophecy than an observation. Since the bill now before the Senate doesn’t place any priority on assimilation by new emigres, Buchanan thinks there’s a very high risk of a “Balkanization” of the United States should it be enacted.
As he said to Ms. Tantaros, “This is what I see as the future of America–the Balkanization and the disintegration of a country which become one nation back around 1960 when all the immigrants who came from Eastern and Southern Europe, 1890-1920, had been assimilated and American-ized. We all had gone through the Depression together, heard the radio together, went through World War II together and American television–that brought us all together. And now we’re coming apart.”
Think about it. Are new emigres you know more interested in becoming Americans than they are in staying Mexicans or Hondurans or Chechans or Russians or Chinese or are they just using their American residency for their own personal advantage?  Does the flood of illegals across our southern border, which is developing into a tsunami in anticipation of good tidings from Washington, portend a good future for America?
More importantly, whatever your views on the new emigres or that emerging tsunami, please email your senators or congresspersons TODAY! Once we come apart, even God won’t be able to put us back together.
Since not even hell or high water will keep President Barack Hussein Obama from signing S. 744 into law if it reaches his desk, the only institution that stands between enacting another D.C. horror is the Republican-dominated House of Representatives and Speaker Waffling John Boehner is already feeling the pressure to follow tradition and cave and be a schmuck for the Democrats.
Give your Senate and House Republicans some gumption by calling, e-mailing, snail-mailing, telegraphing, pony-expressing, or carrier-pigeoning them at http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/. In fact, as the lawyers say, time is of the essence so just call and e-mail–by the millions!!!
