The religion of Islam which dates to the 7th century A.D. and claims as many as 1.5 billion adherents worldwide is often called “the religion of peace” by Muslims and others, which is more a political slogan than an established truth.
The word “Islam” literally means “surrender” or “submission” and is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as written in the Qur’an as revealed to the Prophet by Allah in the year 609 or 610 when the Angel Gabriel miraculously appeared to him in a cave near Mecca and dictated the first verses of what would eventually be called the Qur’an. Gabriel appeared to Muhammad with further enlightenment over the following 23 years until the Prophet’s death when the angel ceased making appearances.
According to TheReligionofPeace.com, “there are very few verses of tolerance and peace” contained within the Qur’an although there are “at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule,” including ”commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding” and condemnations “to Hell for Muslims who do not join the slaughter.”
Over the past fifteen hundred years, the history of Islam has been filled with war, violence, murder, assassination, and mayhem.
Given the world’s total population of over 7 billion souls, it would seem Muslims have their work cut for them to kill the remaining 5.5 billion or so infidels polluting their religion of peace.
However, they’ve gotten a damned good start as graphically illustrated on September 11th, 2001 and by other Islamic atrocities and most recently illustrated by Egyptian Muslims attacking Christian families, burning their homes, and injuring 15 infidels including a Christian teenage girl who was thrown from a 3 story window because she was suspected of involvement with a Christian man.
All of the foregoing relates to America’s recent rapprochement, of sorts, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. None of Iran’s Muslim men–it’s always Muslim men since Muslim women are virtual non-persons under Muhammad’s teachings–have been seen tossing 15 year old girls out three story windows lately but they have been seen tossing President Barack Hussein Obama for more than a few loops.
On Saturday at the Brookings Institution’s Saban Forum, Obama was defensively defending his and Secretary of State John Kerry’s nuclear deal with Iran because, he felt, grounds had been set for a comprehensive agreement but he cautioned that all our options were on the table if the non-agreement collapsed.
As he said, “The best way for us to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon is for a comprehensive, verifiable, diplomatic resolution, . . . If at the end of six months, it turns out that we can’t make a deal, we’re no worse off, and in fact we have greater leverage with the international community to continue to apply sanctions and even strengthen them.”
For anyone to believe what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already called “a bad deal” would in any way benefit the United States or Israel or the MidEast, one would have to overlook Obama’s and Iran’s–and Islam’s–proven track records.
Our president’s five-year history of waffling and international naiveté and general incompetence have been long established and should effectively rule him out as qualified to make “deals” with Iran or any other nation. Iran’s thirty-four history of lying, dedication to the destruction of Western civilization and establishment of a worldwide caliphate rule out any hope of Iranian honesty or reliability. And, Islam’s centuries-old history of hatred and violence toward anyone and anything not Islamic renders any Muslim statements or commitments null and void.
Add to those sobering realities Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s new president, a Muslim cleric, lawyer, academic and former diplomat who succeeded the maniacal Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and to whom Obama made an “historic” phone call following Rouhani’s insulting, public snub at the U.N. last month.
As previously noted here, while serving in the role of Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator with Europe from 2003-2005, the acclaimed “moderate reformer” Rouhani “proudly admitted that he successfully bought time to advance nuclear technology while the EU leaders were busy in negotiations with him” (London Telegraph) and in a campaign speech on May 8th, 2013, said, “ ‘Death to America’ is easy. We need to express ‘Death to America’ with action.” (Wall Street Journal)
Yet, our neophyte president is so deluded that he believes, simply because Rouhani is lately less forthright and more diplomatic in his hatred than Ahmadinejad, that Rouhani’s election–and his “historic” phone call–represent a turning point in Iranian-American relations!
Obama must have never heard the truism, “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.” (Not incidentally, a report released today by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center notes that Iran has executed 529 people so far this year, including more than 300 since the moderate reformer took office only five months ago.)
So, where does all that leave us, the United States of America? It leaves us in the position of trusting Obama, Iran, Rouhani, and the religion of peace to work out an agreement that will obviate a nuclear cataclysm. I’d sooner trust sheer luck.
