affairs in Hollywood and   The 1937 Johnny Mercer golden oldie ”Hooray for Hollywood” has long been a staple on Oscar night when movie celebs of today and yesteryear wax misty-eyed at the memorable melody, totally oblivious that Mercer’s song was composed as a satire on stardom and the young hopefuls who pursue that elusive dream.

The lyrics have since been altered to eliminate lines denigrating Tinseltown such as those describing it as a place where ”any shop girl can be a top girl/If she pleases Mister Businessman” but the amoral nature of the place hasn’t changed.

The “casting couch” may have been replaced by a mattress along the lines of a Sealy Posturepedic as Gwyneth Paltrow has noted but, if anything, Hollywood is even sleazier now than it was 74 years ago.  In addition to becoming a gay-loving, leftist-liberal stronghold, it’s also devolved into a haven for rapacious pedophiles according to former child star, Corey Feldman.

Corey Feldman Returns For LOST  Now 40 and long past his roles in “Goonies,” “Stand By Me,” and “The Lost Boys,” Feldman loosed a blockbuster charge against the “vultures” in the entertainment industry during a “Nightline” interview: ”I can tell you that the number one problem in Hollywood was, and is, and always will be pedophilia.  That’s the biggest problem for children in this industry. . . it’s all done under the radar.  It’s the big secret.”

If it ever were a secret, it’s a secret no more.

With an eye toward his movie future, Feldman elaborated without naming the names of the “corrupt” Hollywood perverts, moguls and lesser lights, who abused him and other kids but he did say that, ”There are so many people in this industry who have gotten away with it for so long that they feel they’re above the law.  And that’s got to change, that’s got to stop.”

Feldman feels especially vehement on the issue not only because he was a victim and knew of many others but because he firmly believes Hollywood pedo-vultures were instrumental in the drug overdose death of his good buddy, fellow child star, Corey Haim.

Perhaps it’s too easy to totally blame Hollywood for what Feldman calls a “widespread” sickness.  The actor also indicts his money-grubbing parents for their complicity in the abuse and the prevailing societal sexualization of children is an additional, culpable factor.

thylane lena rose blondeau 640   When London’s Daily Mail expresses shock over exploitative photos in a Vogue “fashion” shoot featuring pre-pubescent children in provocative poses and attire, either something is very wrong with the editors at Vogue or the magazine is reflecting something very wrong in a society which condones such exhibitions.

Or both.

When British politicians become involved in the controversy and accuse Vogue of being “disgraceful and totally irresponsible” by publishing pictures of girls as young as 10 in lavish, skimpy, revealing dress, heavy makeup, bright red lipstick, and stilleto heels, it is either grossly inappropriate or ”They have descended into the gutter.”  (http://bit.ly/qxAJny)

Or both.

When parents shopping for back-to-school clothing for their “juniors” and discover Target stores hawking push-up bras to create or enhance cleavage and Abercrombie and Fitch advertises padded “triangle bikini tops” for girls as young as 7, (http://huff.to/pwdt5f), either the parents who buy such garbage are nuts or they’re telling leering Hollywood types to feel free to go after kids.

Or both.

Whatever their base inspiration, those entertainment moguls et al. have tarnished  Hollywood’s reputation even further and taken the movie capital of the world into one of the deeper cesspools on the planet.

As for Corey Feldman’s insistence that the pedophilia must stop, he shouldn’t bet on it  since the president of the United States is so enamored of all things Hollywood.  Should  Barack Hussein Obama condemn the rampant, sick corruption, whom could he invite to his 51st birthday star-studded bash?
