Here’s some of what the Left is spewing as we enter the waning days of the campaign:

Garrison Keillor, member of the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party, the thrice-wed Minnesota Wobegon guru who spends most of his time on the Upper West Side in New York City, and who enthusiastically supports Barack Obama writes on Salon.com, “The country longs for a president who can talk and think at the same time. We’ve been locked up with the Current Occupant for way too long and the thought of replacing him with the Angry Old Man of the Desert and Whoopee the Ice Queen is miserable in the extreme.” http://www.salon.com/opinion/keillor/2008/10/29/tulsa/

Such age-ism from a 66 year old and such terror of a female Alaskan governor!   The only males I hear who refer to Sarah Palin as an ice queen are queens in their own right.

The LA Times on its suppression of that video showing Obama and his friends in the Palestinian community:  “The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it,” said the newspaper’s editor, Russ Stanton. “The Times keeps its promises to sources.”

It’s odd that that same “newspaper” saw fit to publish national defense secrets a few years ago.  I assume that protecting sources, and protecting Barack Obama, is of greater consequence than protecting our national security to the Times.

Late night and early night “comics” continue to hammer away at McCain and Palin, all in the interests of good, clean fun.  Read some of their riotous, political “humor” here:  http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081028/tv_campaign_humor.html?.v=1

Leno, Letterman, Stewart, Colbert, O’Brien, Kimmel, Ferguson, et al. have no partisan motives, of course, even though, “In no other campaign over the last 20 years has one party’s ticket been jabbed more than the other by even a 2-to-1 ratio, said Robert Lichter, a George Mason University professor,” as opposed to the 7-to-1 ratio of jabs at McCain/Palin.

Although this is not quite a comprehensive tally of the hundreds, thousands, (millions?) of scurrilous articles, reports, blurbs, and videos which daily rip  McCain and/or Palin on the Internet, on television, in newspapers, magazines, and probably by sky-writers, here’s Big Head Keith Olberman’s objective critique of Sarah Palin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmRztgrxk5M. That last is titled, “Sarah Palin Sucks!”

Hey, whatever works, right?

Finally, the Mother of all Leftist websites, the defining, classic example of liberals who will stop at nothing to malign, obfuscate, and lie outright in order to promote the Leftist agenda, DailyKos.com weighs in.

Just as DailyKosacks searched long and hard to find the rare Cuban-American group that endorses Barack Obama, the Cuban-American National Foundation, http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/10/29/84053/408/260/645537, as opposed to the hundreds of thousands of Cubans who are proudly and faithfully in the McCain camp, they also dredged up an instance of a military officer who backs Obama.

It seems Lt. Gen. Robert G. Gard won’t vote McCain because of his “temperament,” “impatience,” and “shortcomings” which pose an “unacceptable risk to the security of the nation.”

The good general concludes his indictment with this incredible assessment: ”I believe that Barack Obama possesses the requisite qualifications to serve far more effectively as President of the United States and commander-in-chief of the U.S. military than his opponent, John McCain.” (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/10/28/164339/61/803/644986)

I don’t know what’s in the water that the army is serving to generals nowadays but if Lt. General Gard truly believes a freshman senator with absolutely no military experience, disturbing ties to domestic terrorists, and who sat in Jeremiah (“Goddamn America”) Wright’s pews for 20 years would be superior to McCain in leading our nation and military, then Gard is one sick, deluded puppy.
