An unsolicited testimonial and recommendation:

I haven’t yet read Mark Levin’s just released book, Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, although I plan to.  Nevertheless, based on having heard a good deal of his no holds-barred, take-no-prisoners brand of conservatism on WABC, 770-AM (New York), Liberty and Tyranny  has to be a winner.

Apparently, others feel the same way since the book sold out yesterday, the first day it hit the bookstores.

Here’s a portion of Amazon.com’s “product description:”

“Conservative talk radio’s fastest-growing superstar is also a New York Times bestselling phenomenon: the author . . . delivers the book that characterizes both his devotion to his more than 5 million listeners and his love of our country and the legacy of our Founding Fathers: Liberty and Tyranny is Mark R. Levin’s clarion call to conservative America, a new manifesto for the conservative movement for the 21st century.

“In the face of the modern liberal assault on Constitution-based values, . . . the time for re-enforcing the intellectual and practical case for conservatism is now. Conservative beliefs in individual freedoms do in the end stand for liberty for all Americans, while liberal dictates lead to the breakdown of civilized society–in short, tyranny. . . Levin writes, ‘conservatism is the antidote to tyranny precisely because its principles are our founding principles’ . . .Levin . . . has filtered into every timely issue affecting our daily lives, from the economy to health care, global warming, immigration, and more — and illustrates how change, as seen through the conservative lens, is always prudent, and always an enhancement to individual freedom.

“As provocative, well-reasoned, robust, and informed as his on-air commentary, . . . Liberty and Tyranny provides a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for revitalizing the conservative vision and ensuring the preservation of American society:” http://www.amazon.com/Liberty-Tyranny-Conservative-Mark-Levin/dp/1416562850/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1238013233&sr=8-1

Mark Levin is Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Ayn Rand, Bill Buckley rolled into one, with more than a touch of Michael Savage and G. Gordon Liddy blended in.

Get the book!  It’s far too late to light a single candle to glimpse a view of Reagan’s shining city on the hill.  With Obama taking the nation headlong down that hill, it’s time for torches and pitchforks and Levin just might show conservatives the path back up.

If Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto is only half as good as his indictment of America’s Supreme Court, Men in Black, it should be well worth the investment and the read.
